Inspired by the Japanese tea pot – Belly.
The relationship between Nordic and Japanese design is a close one. Both styles display an affection for simple expression using honest materials. In giving shape to the Belly pendant Bønnelycke mdd drew inspiration from the traditional Japanese tea pot. If you look closely you will see clear references to the Japanese cast iron stove or the Nordic archetypal sleigh bell. With its dominantly artisanal look Belly combines weightlessness of shape with lightness of suspension. Belly is available now in 3 sizes and in the beauty of black. This Nordic inspired design is simple and functional and positions itself beautifully at the intersection between industrial and classic design.
The shade is suspended from a leather strap with a choice of either black or tan colour. In this way you can determine the look of your light fixture. The combination of leather and metal is both classic and modern. It fits visually well with a modern interior, where the mixing of materials is one of today’s biggest trends. The new wall light is available with white or black shades, and with brown and black leather straps included. Also added to the family is a new 16cm size pendant, perfect for bedsides. There is an abundant playfulness to the new Askja pendant series, which lets you mix six different colours of suspensions with four different glass screens.
This makes a large number of creative combinations. With Askja, the designers turned the socket into a substantial and pivotal part of the design. They explored classic geometric shapes and set new standards for innovative lighting. The pendants look equally beautiful whether hung individually or together in a cluster, with or without the glass. Suspensions are available in White, Black, Brass, Copper, Mat Chrome or Black Chrome. The four glass shapes are available in Clear, Amber or Smoke. View more online here or send us an enquiry today!
